Research Interests:

 

Early research interests have focussed strongly on the regulation of growth and development physiology in avocado.  In particular there has been a strong emphasis on pre-harvest factors affecting postharvest performance and the relationships between yield and orchard production inputs.  Recent interests include nutrition, canopy management, climate and yield in Hass avocado.

 

Since 1996 I have been involved with and developed a strong interest in research management.  The role of grower organisations in research and the management of grower funded research is a particular interest, especially research strategy, leadership, team development, research capability and continuity, review and stakeholder reporting.
